Spend a weekend or a day with PSNWA, featuring a photography only tour of the Missouri State Penitentiary. “Pretty” Boy Floyd, Sonny Liston and James Earl Ray were all incarcerated here. One of the last remaining gas chambers in North America is here along with an underground dungeon, four floors of cell blocks, and tons of history. The penitentiary will be open only to PSNWA for 3 hours on Sunday morning from 8:00 to 11:00 AM on May 21st at a cost of $40 per PSNWA member and $45 per PSNWA guest.

Wildflowers with Sharon Haley and Miranda Viney

Wildflowers, dots across our landscape, provide a natural color palette for the Northwest Arkansas region. Do you love looking at flowers in their natural environment and yearn to learn more about them? Would you like to take a wildflower photo walk and get tips on taking pretty pictures?

Please join us at the Hobbs State Park Visitor’s Center to hear noted arborist Sharon Haley share her knowledge of wildflowers growing right here in our region. Esteemed photographer, Miranda Viney, will share basic photography tips on taking beautiful wildflower pictures. Stay for a walking tour of the park to enjoy the day and take photos. We will provide a link to upload your picture for sharing with the class.

The Blue Whale of Catoosa is a waterfront structure, located just east of the town of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and it has become one of the most recognizable attractions on old Route 66. Hugh Davis built the Blue Whale in the early 1970s as a surprise anniversary gift to his wife Zelta, who collected whale figurines.[1] The Blue Whale and its pond became a favorite swimming hole for both locals and travelers along Route 66 alike. Originally, the pond surrounding the massive Blue Whale was spring fed and intended only for family use. However, as many locals began to come to enjoy its cool waters, Davis brought in tons of sand, built picnic tables, hired life guards, and opened his masterpiece to the public

Route 66 Weekend Photo Tour with Greg Disch

Oklahoma Route 66 from Afton to Arcadia

Route 66 is a national treasure, it’s pure adventure, and its close by. This weekend tour is guided by Greg Disch, and includes a signed copy of Greg’s book “Route 66: Ghost Towns and Roadside Relics” which will be released this spring. Greg will be available throughout the workshop to assist you to get the best photos, whether by learning a new technique or just working on improving composition.

Also included is one night’s lodging at the Desert Hills Motel in Tulsa based on double occupancy. Cost for the workshop is $150 per person, and travel will be by carpooling. Single occupancy may be purchased as an option.
