December 14, 2019
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Come out and enjoy the Holiday lights on the downtown square in Fayetteville. We will meet in front of the Bank of Fayetteville at 6 PM for a quick discussion of photo tips for photographing holiday lights. Bright lights and dark surroundings make for challenging conditions to get good exposures. We’ll discuss some starting points for proper exposures, and tips for hopefully improving your holiday photos. You will then be free to wander and take photos for as long as you like, ask questions, seek input from others in the group so you can get the shots you desire. ( The Bank of Fayetteville in on the northwest corner of the square). We can shoot for about a hour and then anyone who wants to meet up at Tim’s Pizza is welcome to join for food and drinks. Tim’s Pizza is at 1813 E Mission Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703.

Fall foliage walk at Hobbs State Park
Van Winkle Hollow Trailhead
Saturday, November 2, 2019, 7:30 AM
It’s time to get out and enjoy the fall colors and cooler air at one of the gems of NWA. Bring your cameras and tripods out to Hobbs State Park Van Winkle Hollow trail for an early morning of fall colors. The historic Van Winkle homestead and sawmill located in a ravine between Hwy 12 and Beaver Lake gives a glimpse of what this area looked like over a century ago. Hobbs State Park interpreter Steve Chyrchel will be on hand to give a quick overview of the history of the Van Winkle family and their impact on the development of NWA before we get started.
Historically we have found deer and other wildlife, lots of fall scenery, and a beautiful sunrise reflecting off the lake and bluffs covered with fall colors.
We will meet in the parking lot at the Van Winkle trailhead on the North side of Hwy 12, just west of the Hobbs Visitor Center.
