Are you interested in photographing the eagles that migrate to NW Arkansas during the winter months? This class, taught by Tim Johnson from the Photographic Society on NWA, will provide discussion and tips on the equipment and technique needed to start capturing these magnificent birds during the winter months as they migrate into the area for the winter and can be easily photographed in many locations around NWA. During the second hour, we will move to the Rocky Branch Marina to get on the Hobbs Eagle Cruise boat for an afternoon tour on Beaver Lake to attempt to find some eagles in nature. Please come prepared with photo equipment, longer lenses are useful to get extra reach, but not required. Appropriate winter clothing to endure being out on the lake in an open boat also make the trip more enjoyable. Spaces are limited due to the numbers that we can accommodate on the boat portion.

A Better Understanding of Studio Light, or What the heck do this thing do?
Understanding how light works, and how to make it do what you want it to is the focus of this workshop. We will talk about which modifier to choose to get the lighting desired. This will include umbrellas, soft boxes, octaboxes, the beauty dish, grids, the use of reflectors and how to fill those shadows without adding another light.
