Floridian, Jim McManus, has been a 3D photographer for over 25 years, opening eyes to new dimensions in stereo with a variety of home-built twin camera rigs. In 2018 Jim created stereo images for a permanent exhibit at Niagara Falls State Park. Recently Jim was asked to collaborated with Barry Rothstein on his newest (and fifth) book of Phantograms… “Macrophant 3D” which will contain over 60 macro stereo 3D images, featuring amazing close-up views of plants, flowers and insects, all in life-like Three Dimensions!
Jim shares some highlights of his past images, and talk about the stereo photography process which has been around since the dawn of photography.
A pair of standard “anaglyph” (red/cyan) 3D glasses will aid in viewing depth, but you will be able to grasp the concepts presented here without them.
