Street photography, a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures that can portray the joy, monotony and even social pressures of the time and culture.

Documenting people in their everyday environment is not always easy. Brandon will take a close look at what street photography is, how it differs from other genres of photography and provide some helpful tips to get you started.

Photographer: Brandon Jennings

I have been shooting street photography for over 15 years. I try to capture life as it happens, unscripted. Most of my work features natural lighting with minimal editing. My inspirations are Henry Cartier-Bresson, Vivian Mayer, Diane Arbus, Brassai, and Joel Meyerowitz.
