When most people think about 3D photography they imagine elaborate cameras and expensive software. This is not necessarily the case. You can take 3D images with the camera you have now and prepare the image with free software! John will provide an overview of stereo photography, from anaglyphs to digital images on your phone.
You may think 3D images are a new idea, but six months prior to Henry Fox Talbot announcing his discovery of photography in 1839, Charles Wheatstone announced his discovery of the stereoscopic vision principles. Stereo photography has been an enduring genera throughout the era of photography. Today the process is easier than ever. We will discuss cameras, the principles of Stereo Photography and how you can use open source software to create 3D digital images for printing of viewing through a VR device.
Topics include:
- Understanding stereo photography principles
- Taking matched pair images
- Editing 3D images
- Displaying your 3D images.
