While digital devices make photography today easier and faster, they can also make things more difficult if they are not all working together. Are those devices all speaking the same language, is the red color on my camera, the same red color to my printer? If not, you might want to learn a little about how to implement a color managed work flow into your photography.
Do you have problems with color casts on your photos, prints that are too dark or simply don’t look like the file on your monitor? Your problem may be a lack of color standards in your photo workflow. There are methods to make the camera, monitor and printer all speak the same language, with regard to color.
This class will discuss how to get your photographic devices, camera, monitor and printer all on the same page and in the end, make your output closer to your artistic vision.
Come join us at the studio as Tim shows us how to calibrate your computer monitor and printers.

A Better Understanding of Studio Light, or What the heck do this thing do?
Understanding how light works, and how to make it do what you want it to is the focus of this workshop. You will learn about light; what it does in the studio, why it does what does, and how the various modifiers change how the light works. We will talk about which modifier to choose to get the lighting desired. This will include umbrellas, soft boxes, octaboxes, the beauty dish, grids, the use of reflectors and how to fill those shadows without adding another light.
Understanding these things will take your studio photography to the next level.

Are you interested in photographing the eagles that migrate to NW Arkansas during the winter months? This class, taught by Tim Johnson from the Photographic Society on NWA, will provide discussion and tips on the equipment and technique needed to start capturing these magnificent birds during the winter months as they migrate into the area for the winter and can be easily photographed in many locations around NWA. During the second hour, we will move to the Rocky Branch Marina to get on the Hobbs Eagle Cruise boat for an afternoon tour on Beaver Lake to attempt to find some eagles in nature. Please come prepared with photo equipment, longer lenses are useful to get extra reach, but not required. Appropriate winter clothing to endure being out on the lake in an open boat also make the trip more enjoyable. Spaces are limited due to the numbers that we can accommodate on the boat portion.
