Kim is a wildlife and nature photographer. Kim seeks to go past making a mere documentary record of a subject, and instead tries to make a creative representation of the wildlife subject that he is photographing. Kim desires to get creative with the use of composition, light, editing and the magic of the moment.

Distinguished Photographer: Kim Clark

My passion for photography started when I was in Junior High School many years ago. I got my first long awaited camera for Christmas.  It was a Kodak X-15 and the world became my canvas. I still have many of the pictures from those years.

I was born and raised in the upper peninsula of Michigan, and am known as a "Yooper."   My appreciation for nature, wildlife, and life events evolved as a result.

It led me to getting my degree in Biology at Northern Michigan University. After teaching High School Biology for a few years, my calling for photography took over and I started, operated, and managed a school photography business for 31 years, I retired from my business in 2012 and since then I have come full circle since my junior high school days.  I am back to my first love - photography through my experiences.
